 All about Costa del Sol

COSTA del Sol is a stretch in southern Spain known for its beautiful beaches flocked by British tourists during summer. These tourists are usually retired and have permanently settled in Costa del Sol. They love the climate which is relatively warm than the rest of Western Europe. Precipitation is moderate but during summer, beach resorts are all filled so book early. The nice thing about Costa del Sol is that even when the beach resorts are scattered with tourists, they remain clean. Costa del Sol, along with many communities in Spain, adhere closely to the standards of the European Union blue flag accrediting group which monitors the quality of both tap and beach water in all beaches across the continent.

The Costa del Sol people are proud to announce to the world that all its beaches have passed the strict periodic inspection of the European Union blue flag accrediting group. On top of that, Costa del Sol is also earmarked to become a biosphere reserve and its rich scuba diving spots are a haven to environmentalists who monitor both the natural and man-made coral reefs there. Other European tourists have even bought retreat homes which serve as their own vacation residences during the summer. To make money, they have decided to lease those homes for the rest of the year. Real estate laws are so relaxed for foreigners; all they require of you are the annual income tax of the property and the monthly garbage collection fee to be remitted directly to the Costa del Sol government.

The mostly ageing British tourists here often collide with the younger gay generation who frequent a few nudist beaches spread elsewhere in the region. These younger folks are also on the prowl in the beaches where you can hear techno music blended with local flavor. The result is a danceable Spanish modern beat which one can’t resist gyrating with even through dawn. So if one is a party person, you may want to check out a property that is located along the coastlines although these can sometimes be pricey. But if you are adept in negotiation, you can have a hefty discount from your real estate broker. But if you want a quieter spot to stay and have a romantic evening with your partner, then go star gazing in some villa. There are also lots of villas up for sale here and all of them are in excellent shape.

Because Costa del Sol is located along the Mediterranean coastline, the staple viand of the people here is seafood. Remember that in Spain, they hate to eat their seafood frozen so most often than not, you will see the locals queuing in beaches to buy produce directly from the fishermen. Since Morocco is just across the Mediterranean and since parts of Spain were conquered by the Moors in olden times, halal food also plays an enormous role to the Spanish palate and Costa del Sol is not spared of that of course. Here in Costa del Sol, you will find very tasty lamb chops.

It runs along the Mediterranean coastline on Southern Spain. It is part of the independent territory Andalusia but is so famous that people often speak of it separately. The Costa del Sol got its name because of its beautiful weather. It means "Sunny Coast" in English. It used to be a series of quiet fishing settlements, but ever since the last half of the century it’s become a busy, vibrant and exciting tourist hotspot. It has many settlements and resorts and some of the most luxurious hotels in the world.
